Anybody judging this man for what he has done hasn't seen much of his/her inner potential as much in the constructive side as in the destructive side. It feels to me as a great tragedy that he has gone so far as to kill someone, and also a great tragedy that he was forced to prison instead of mandatory therapy. We are not really civilized yet if punishment/prison is the only solution we have to such situations. I hope we can do better in the future to our fellow human beeings.

Hans Reiser is a very antisocial nerd with many personality/behavior problems who married a woman who just wanted to get into the US, who had just as many problems as he did (she was having an affair with a crazy BDSM psycho who claimed he killed 8 people). His dad is just as crazy and paranoid as he is and kids are products of their environment. His filesystem sucks ass too. It's not brilliant or anything resembling a good idea for a filesystem. He wasted his entire life on a ridiculous idea.

Extrañamente todo este caso en contra de Hans Reiser se armó en base a pruebas circunstamciales, de las cuales la más «inculpadora» era un vestigio de sangre de Nina Reiser que se encontró dentro de la casa. Es posible que sea culpable, pero el que se inculpen a los acusados tan livianamente y con tan pobre evidencia concreta, bueno eso explica quizás la gran cantidad de fallos erróneos que ostentan los tribunales de justicia norteamericanos. Ojalá no se hayan equivocado ahora con Reiser.

I lived on Capitol hill during the time that she was murdered. I left Seattle in 96 but I always thought about this girl. I was so angry that she was killed and they didn't find the person. So when I heard that they solved the crime I was so happy. May she continue to rest in peace. People talked about her all the time. She was going to be a major force in the music industry. So sad that she didn't get to live out her dreams on earth. I hope that people will keep her memory alive.

Do you think he should be held accountable for a CHOICE that his friend made by not only participating but not wearing a seat belt (even though I don't know if that would have helped much). Medical bills, yes thats a plausible argument but jail time is extreme. Some sort of punishment is understandable as well. Also, about a fraction of the people here (myself also) can't handle a dark cell room 24-7 (I repeat...TWENTY FOUR-SEVEN!) and would crack and go crazy. Thats me opinion.
