You could wear gloves. preferably some of those thick yellow ones people like to use for handwashing dishes. Just make sure you clean the chemical solution off correctly afterwards and you should be good as gold.

the repair depots have a way of checking inside the computer if liquid damage has happened. although the companies would take your word for it initially, they would still double check their computer. warranties generally do not cover liquid, accidental or intentional damages, since that means the damage could have been avoided by keeping liquids away and by not doing anything to damage the computer.

wow, you sure showed Apple! I have a *newer* 2.4 ghz black one, and I love it. Companies (even apple) tend to screw people on warrenties. I suppose the $249 apple care might be worth it in your case, as it would cost $700 plus to fix it, but it's dumb that they thought it had spill damage. They don't even have water sensors or w.e. they are.

My Wife has a Vaio, nice computers, work very well if you dont want to spend that much money... nice to wwatch movies in, to connect to your tv with super video or HDMI. For working I have the Mac, Ive never gone back to Windows after I got my fist mac. I got this friend using a Powerbook G4 and installed Adobe Suite cs3(complete) with 60 harddrive and almost nothing on video... and works perfectly.... MAC really makes using what it has to 100%... Windows uses to much resources just for the OS

the track pad is glass but has a thin layer of plastic over it so it feels like the old one the reason that the thy so not put on blu ray is because the macs would be way to expensive and no one would by them and if you want fire wire 400 get a usb adapter

at the risk of sounding terribly pedantic, it's not a centrino chipset - it's nivida; and doesn't have a dedicated graphics chip. Whilst the 9400 graphics is a massive upgrade over the previous intel one, it's integrated into the main controller and shares the main memory. If you want dedicated you need a MacBook Pro. With you on the firewire though. Otherwise, really enjoy the show! :)

well you get a computer that never reaches the full speed it's suppose to be able to reach, features that you can get online for free, the ability to act like a dick without even knowing what your talking about, a computer that's easier to hack into than a pc.(it's been proven). tbh, i bought the 15" MacBook Pro, but because it is a widescreen, and my old Dell was a 16:9, even the 15" looks huge. The 17" is like a T. Its what you're gonna use it for really. If you're going to leave it at home/office, 15" is fine, and its still fairly portable. But if you're carrying it to uni/ work, 13" should still be sound

Just got my 2.4 ghz alu-Macbook and I'm really pleased with it. I was originally considering getting Macbook Pro because of it's bigger screen size, however thought against it because the Macbook (minus firewire, seperate graphics card, smaller screen) is pretty much the same spec. I believe the keyboard is the same size as the Macbook Pro, so that shouldn't make a difference. And if your worried about screen size you can always put the money you saved towards a nice monitor.

As for whether or not the students get the Macbooks, I would have to say that it's a good possibility considering that they are intended as desktop replacements and are quite capable of that task for a wide variety of work, including film production. Full Sail does frequently invest in equipment to keep everything as up to date as possible. Of course, the laptops would likely remain the property of Full Sail.

that's ok because I don't need any of that lol and as for time machine- come on its called rsync in linux . Plus If I do encounter a major problem because I screwed it up accidentaly then I don't really care because my home directory is a different hard disk. If you use mac(or windows) and your happy with it then good but as for me I use linux and don't have a single problem with it so there is no need for either of us to switch :)

I guess many people buy macs because the seem to be fun.Honestly I bought because of Imovie/IDVD i have loads of issues for the last 2 years.I had 8 out of 10 dvds waisted because of flickering images output from it.. some of them come without sound, sometimes they messed the videos chapters and so on... but the worst is the choppy and ghost images... just find out that many people had the same issues with it!!!

Macbooks don't actually use the full rated capacity of their power adapters. Apple is probably referring to a quarter of a 100w bulb, which is 25w. It is very realistic for notebook computers to use less than 25w, as they are always designed with low power use in mind so that they can last as long as possible on battery power. I'd bet that the air uses less than 15w in idle.
