exactly if you beat a man that is good then your better...,Transformers217 doesnt seem to be able to grasp this...,musnt be the brightest person...
By: BLaCkKsHeEp. on 02 Dec 08, 21:50:11
if you beat a man that doesnt know how to fight, then it really doesnt prove anything. if you beat someone who is actually good, then youre better. if they come back, and beat you... train harder :D
By: dhlfh. on 02 Dec 08, 14:55:36
yeh id say it does prove shit.look listen, when a fighter beats another fighter,it means they are better, the fact roy had a disadvantage and could still outscore bhop, shows how good roy was and how much better than bhop he was,if he had two healthy hands he prob would have stopped him..,thats like saying tyson only beat his opponents cause of power but they were better fighters,if you beat a man then you are better..,and if u can beat a guy easy enough with one hand then u are much better..
By: Transformers217. on 02 Dec 08, 10:52:13
But Jones never proved that he was the better fighter. Just because he won with a broken hand, doesn't prove shit. He only won because of his uncanny reflexes, and hand speed. He never hurt Hopkins at all. Hopkins was kicking his ass during the last two rounds of that fight, and he wobbled Jones during the 8th round.

Hopokins will retire living behind him a legacy, that will always remind him to us.

What you said about dawson probably you are right.About the beating he gave to pavlik, there's no doubt about it. Hopkins have showed a lot,I know that, but if Hopkins fight with a boxer who got speed and agility like him, the results will not be the same for sure. What he did to CALZAGHE, is the same what he used to do when he can't handle the rythm of of his rival. He start holding you, giving some headbuts(like he did to WINKY)and running like always.Nevertheless he is a smart boxer.
By: dhlfh. on 28 Nov 08, 13:43:51
he won the fight with an injury,i think that shows he was better...,imagine if he wasnt injured,he would have won easy...,so what if he didnt hurt hopkins....
By: Transformers217. on 28 Nov 08, 12:21:13
Except he never really proved that he was better then Hopkins. He only won based on his speed, reflexes, and agility. But he never hurt Hopkins, and he looked worn out during the last two rounds.

By: dhlfh. on 27 Nov 08, 13:31:18
roy fought one handed..he had a broken hand in that fight...it showed how much better roy was if he could beat hopkins one handed...

anyone know the song?
By: Transformers217. on 27 Nov 08, 05:18:54
Roy didn't look that good against Hopkins. If it wasn't for Roy's phenomenal speed, and reflexes, then he would of gotten his ass kicked. He never hurt Hopkins, while Hopkins kept bringing the fight to Roy, and actually stunned him with repeated right hands during the 8th round of that fight.
By: Transformers217. on 27 Nov 08, 05:14:16
Very true. And unlike Hopkins, Hagler actually lost to a smaller fighter named Sugar Ray Leonard. But I have to admit, Hagler faught better competition in Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, and Ray Leonard. To me, all three of those fighters are superior to nearly everybody that Hopkins has faught. But then again, I do feel that Hopkins would give all four of those legends some of the toughest fights in their era. :)
By: Transformers217. on 27 Nov 08, 05:11:26
You are an idiot. Hopkins might not be the most exciting fighter out there, but he's definitely one of the more exciting fighters in his era. And in his prime, you just couldn't take your eyes off him. Any real boxing fan, would be entertained by Hopkins incredible boxing abilities.
By: Transformers217. on 27 Nov 08, 05:08:29
Dawson is nothing special. I was not impressed with how he beat Johnson, and Tarver. And as far as I'm concerned, he lost that fight against Glen Johnson. I don't care what Floyd Mayweather claims. Dawson is not the best fighter in the world, and he would definitely lose to guys like Hopkins, and Calzaghe. And let's face it, nobody wants to fight Hopkins after what he did to Kelly Pavlik.
By: Kenepo792. on 27 Nov 08, 00:50:16
Iam with you that CHAD WILL DEAFEAT Hopkins. I just know that a Guy like DAWSON with such defense, will not be the same fight that B-HOP did with PAVLIK. What just impressed me from B-HOP's last fight, was that He conserve his punching power; he didn't KO Pavlik because he didn't want that. This man still being dangerous and can ashame some of the best boxers in THE GAME.
By: cupocity303. on 26 Nov 08, 19:16:50
B-Hop is my favorite fighter but he cannot beat Dawson at this point. If he couldn't get a clean victory against Taylor - a younger upcoming fighter, he sure as hell can't against Dawson who is a much better technical fighter with solid defense. The best I he could do is make it as ugly as possible, clinching and holding, using his defense and go to distance at this point. Sure he beat a younger Pavlik (suprised me) but Pavlik got exposed. This is wat I expected Taylor to do to Pavlik.
By: Kenepo792. on 24 Nov 08, 01:13:59
I will like to see B_HOP against CHAD DAWSON. I will like to know if he will manage the whole fight as he did with PAVLIK.
By: bolo9259. on 23 Nov 08, 19:52:47
exactly. he is the best thing to happen to the heavyweight division in a long time- i hope it lasts bcos like him or dislike him he is exciting to watch. his chin has question marks but then again he can knockout anyone- great for the fans
By: tony2789. on 23 Nov 08, 09:33:24
if nothing else, haye will atleast make a heavyweight fight worth watching, and there hasn't been one in a long time.
By: dhlfh. on 22 Nov 08, 14:01:19
Ive seen nearly all his fights apart from a few of his earlier fights,he's boring, not every single fight, just the majority, hagler was exciting, came to fight, not run, hold and try to steal fights, thats the reason why hopkins is respected and hagler is loved...
By: ruffa65. on 22 Nov 08, 13:44:24
It's not fact. So what about his destruction of Echols, Johnson, Lipsy and Trinidad? Have you even seen anything prior to Trinidad? The Tarver beatdown was entertaining also. It would appear your "facts" are looking more like unresearched opinion. You appear, also, to be confusing education with intelligence. The reason I mentioned Hagler is that he's revered by boxing fans, assuming that's what you are, yet his biggest wins came against smaller guys. Much like Hopkins.
By: dhlfh. on 22 Nov 08, 13:25:24
ive seen most of his fights, and the majority of the time he's boring, its fact..dont give me that ghetto boy crap, bhop is fairly intelligent,he made a racist comment, joe is from a poor background,i guess if he made a similar comment then it would be ok cause he's from a poor background, whats hagler got to do with it,im not talking about him,no i dint find the pavlik fight boring and i was up for bhop,i said he's boring, which he is,the pavlik fight wasnt though..
By: ruffa65. on 22 Nov 08, 13:16:21
In your opinion he's boring. Just out of interest how many of his fights have you actually watched? Did you find his performance against Pavlik boring? He gained universal acclaim for that performance. So in your opinion does it harm Hagler's leagacy that all his biggest wins came against smaller guys? Racist? You're talking about an uneducated ghetto boy who made a "white boy" comment. I'm afraid it's not the same as an educated white man saying a similair thing.
