one of my favourite tv shows! it seems space-outlaws don't do well when it comes to having a long running series though - consider both outlaw star (watch it - it seems to have been the genesis of firefly) and cowboy bebop only ran for a series each (though os was aiming for another run and bebop left on a cliffhanger). i think with firefly they had low ratings and the plot resolved itself satisfactorally enough to let it be axed.
