It broke my heart when the toys try to get Andys attention they steal the house phone and Andys cell phone they mark his number with the house phone and let the cell phone ring so he would have to see the toys but ignores them and awners the phone and says HELLO? Here's my two main points... 1) Does this "recycling" take away from any of the actual movies presented? Nope, otherwise we wouldn't be shocked when we saw the clips merged together. 2) Don't all other forms of entertainment recycle themes, phrases, actions, etc.? According to literary experts, Frankenstein was the last original story. So if story equations are copied, why not action? Are car chase scenes actually completely original? :)

i don't think many people realize that this is not a big secret. if you watch the special features on Beauty and the Beast, in an interview one of the lead animators talks about how they re-used the footage from Sleeping Beauty for the dance sequence. it's a popular technique used by all traditional animation companies. not just disney.

You can't get too angry about all of this. Disney's animation budget was slashed hugely after Cinderella. The only way too keep it going was too cut corners. They stopped inking for a while. They reused refs. It was that or not have an animation division. Walt hated it. He actually pushed for cutting the animation department because he didn't like the recycling of clips and lack of inking but there was no choice. But then again Walk may just have been mad about the jazz music. XD

What you're seeing here is most probably not the result of stock animation, but stock reference material. Disney used a lot of reference materials, actors for rotoscoping and such, it's likely that when two bits of animation moved the same, they had the same underlying live acting that aided the drawing process.

Btw, I love 2D animation and another reason like Disney animations so much is the soundtrack and score (Alan Menken FOR THE WIN!!!) This is actually one of the rare times when a propaganda film is actually really accurate. In fact if anything, it omits some of the worst details of the upbringings of german kids - such as when kids participated in executions, even playing with dead body parts of victims. Or the fact that CHILD SOLDIERS were sent in as cannon fodder to die by the thousands as the war was nearing its end.

The costumes look great and Toy Story is a wonderful movie that is very near and dear to our hearts. But I'm not sure how I feel about turning it into a musical. Fuck, i actually had some interest in this when it was just the concept "oldschool" artwork. Now they went and shrek-ified it... get the fuck over this crappy 3D comedy bullshit. No, they're kinda taking the whole dark, sinister and romantic story of Rapunzel and making it into a comedy that only little girls will watch and enjoy. Dammit, Disney. You suck now. :[
