To young siemreap215!you should blame on France who get money from taxing Khmer build school hospital high way in Hanoi or Prey Nokor[Saigon].They left 2 hight school Sisowat and Yukkotho before they left Cambodia.Before 1955 ,all government worker, factory worker,hotel worker are Vietnamese who was imported by French.I remember before 1967 all employee of Siemreap Grand Hotel are Vietnamese.

Thai troops 'cross into Cambodia' About 40 Thai troops have crossed into Cambodian territory in the latest flare-up of a dispute over an ancient temple, Cambodian officials have said. Hang Soth, who manages the site of the 11th , said the Thai soldiers had entered in violation of his country's sovereignty. The temple and the land around it were awarded to Cambodia by the International Court of Justice in 1962, forcing Thai troops who had occupied the area to withdraw.

Yes , what he had done for cambodian is to bring the misery . He did not win anything from vietname only turn cambodia to the year zero . If he was side with the west. Maybe there was no vietcong in cambodia and no 1.7 million cambodian died . Thailand was a slave to the western world as Sihanouth had said but Thailand was safe , no war . Economicaly is alot of better . Khmer go there to find food to feed family. Ex-king was responsible of khmer suffering .

Sihanouk made an agreement with Hou chi ming for vietcong to use part of southern Khmer temporarily and to return it after the war. He did this for Khmer to stay out of the War between super powers. He was a good leader until he was overthrown. That's when everything went out off hand. Sihanouk took one wrong political step that plunged Khmer into misery. But that's just past now.

Americans bombed Cambodia because Sihanouk allowed the Viet Cong to use part of Cambodia as a hidden sactuary for them. I'm ashamed that some Khmer people recognized him as a Khmer King, which truly may not be the case. How can a true King of Cambodia destroy his own subjects and country?

King Sihanouk did some good things..but because of his greed for power too much he didnt want Cambodia to be a democracy state ..that the reason why he allied with the Chinese govt to help communist vietnam. Which result American bomb Cambodia and Cambodia went into way of social unstability. and Khmer separated into different factions and lead the Cambodia into civil war and self destruction till everything back to Year Zero(POlPOt). This comment is true or not depends dividual opinion.
