CEOs and high level managers gave more to Republicans. Not to mention that 20 McCain fundraisers had in the past lobbied on behalf of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae for their own profit. When Republicans took control in 1995, they overturned that act. Last year, Congress re-instituted the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act, authored by Democrats Barney Frank and Mel Watt and Republicans Richard Baker and Gary Miller.

Clinton couldn't run again. Conservtives blew it 1988-1992,2000-2008. If conservatives had been sucessful, we would have voted conservative. 8 years is enough time, especially with the full support of the legislative branch for six of those years to be successful. Actually, social security is NOT going bankrupt. That's a myth because it's doing just fine. The myth is propogated by the private sector, which wants to privatise everything & impose a private tyranny on the American populace. Universal health care, if properly managed, would drive down the aggregate cost of health care. The United States doesn't have a free market system. However, "free market" ideology, as it is practised, only effectively functions as Social Darwinism. It's barbaric.
