Turns out my chain length was ok. It seems that the a universal flapper is equipped with a ring as part of the mold which slides down the overflow tube as when you install it. This ring keeps tension on the arms of the flapper and doesn't allow them to pivot when flushed. The tension forces the flappper down unless you hold the flush handle down. I just simply cut each end of the ring where it attaches to the arms and it did the trick. Whats that annoying ring for anyhow? water saving maybe?

Hi Tim. My flapper in our ensuite toilet was allowing a small constant trickle of water through. I rescently replaced it with another flapper. It wasn't identicle to the old one but it still fit like a glove. The leak stopped but now we have to hold the flush handle down for a few seconds or it will close immediately and not allow the flush to complete. I tinkered with the chain length from the arm to the flapper but no luck. Any suggestions?

That happened to me once. I was cleaning a gutter, and my hands were filthy. I went into the bathroom to wash up, and to my surprise, the town had shut off the water. Luckily, the toilet tank was full, and i washed up there. When i told people about this auxiliary supply of water, they said i was weird, and that it was nasty to stick my hands in the back of the toilet.

Try adding a cup of chlorine bleach and letting it soak for an hour. Then use a toilet brush on a spot you can scrub. It should work.

It isn't the same water which you drink if you have got a rainwater circuit which you use for flushing the toilet etc. which gets collected from the gutters. It is starting to be introduced in the UK because of price increases.

If you are on city water, usually there is chloramine or chlorine dioxide in your water. But I believe the toilet tank gets contaminated from the mold that grows in the tank above the water line. If you use untreated well water, tank water is stagant water=lots of bacteria. In an emergency, I think you could treat either type of toilet tank water with halazone tablets or boil it to get drinking water.

Sigh! Man is a huge crutch word for me. I also say "Dude" too much. And then there is that arm-waving motion. If you watch some of my other work, I also say "now" and "okay" way too many times. All crutch words....those are words when your brain can't think of the next thing to say. I cringe when I look at some of my older videos as well as this one! :-(

The dance is too sexualized, the skirts are too short, and the song dates to the 1940s, not the 20s. I should know. In my younger, thinner days, I was a flapper. A couple weeks ago, I went to the Edison for the 45th anniversary screening of "The Birds". Tippi Hedren was the guest. But she's not nearly as famous as me, Secretia Collins. They're AMAZING! Who cares about the hair, seriously. It's about the dancing era. It just makes you want to get up and dance with them. Ha ha. What are you talking about? Ace Attacker is one of the things that did need to be changed. It was originally Engrish that mixed together the concept of an ace pilot with someone who... attacks. It really doesn't hold any meaning in English, so they changed it to the origin of the term, Ace Pilot. Cool as Ice was done because Ice Man, while not NEARLY as old as Flapper Girl, has still fallen out of use, but saying that someone is as cool as ice still holds meaning today.

Just like I'm not one of those people inclined to gripe about 'Sanger' versus 'Zengar' - Sanger IS correct, whether purists like it or not. I just think changes JUST FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGES are dumb. 'Ace Attacker' and 'Ice Man' are pretty catchy names and MAKE SENSE. 'Cool as Ice' and 'Ace Pilot' aren't catchy at all. :

Growing requests to hear/see what is like with the flapper enabled on the R32 with the resonator deleted. IMHO it does sound better and the Butt dyno seems to be happier since it feels as though the pressure created from having the flap closed at times helps performance. Let me know what you all think!

well guys, i wouldn't say dsg is better or manual is better. it's really depended on the person. not everyone is good at driving a stick, but they still want to have fun with cars, so this new mkv r32 is a very good choice for them. (paddle shifters/tiptronic) and ok i have a 04 r32, and it's a 6 speed, i love it, but sometimes it gets annoying, because is a manual, like i couldn't do anything while i'm driving. but i still love the hpa tuned mkiv r32... .:R for life!!!

here is my another advice, if you want a car that takes you places, and you don't know how to drive a manual but you still want to have fun, this is the one for you. but if you feel this car is too slow for you, go buy a lambo. if you know how to drive manual, STI is a good choice. let me know if your guys have questions. one of my buddy's dad bought a red r32 when it came out. and i actually had a chance to test drive it. when i got into the car, it just feels like the mkv gti. the car itself feels like an automatic, but it's really not an automatic at the same time. you can actually shift up and down with the paddle shifters or the tiptronic without a clutch. but the dual clutch works very well. shift really fast. this car can makes a noob become a real race driver...

oh well, here is my personal opinion on DSG (direct shift gearbox)... it's amazing. i currently have a 2004 vw r32. i absolutely love it. the vr6 and the 4motion works so good together. I never got stuck in the snow before and i drive to school and cruise with my buddies everyday. it's just a very powerful, reliable car. (but it is not the fastest) when the 08 r32 came out. i didn't like it at first, because it is an automatic, i never had an automatic before so...

Dumb ass its not an automatic DSG is a mauuel that has a comp control the clutch not your foot. You can choose your gear via paddle shifters. Yes it is a manuel not a manumatic because the DSG trans doesn't have a torque converter. Next time don't comment unless you know somthing about the subject.
