i was watching this power point in my II class (Inventions and Inovations) it was actually really cool, then it talked about that weve developed fiber optic cords that carry like 1000k times (i think that was the number) the high speed internet with ethernet cords (meaning it can do 190 CD's a second) then also by like 2015 well have computers that can out compute the human mind, then by 2041 computers that can out do the human race. that was just an estimation tho. i really want to see it again

Yea, when I do it, I use the shelf liner, spray a silver through it, then I move it down and over slightly and spray a graphite through it, all this is done over black base. I have had to do it over silver base before, so I just used an over reduced black, and a slightly over reduced black to achieve the finish I was looking for. The nylon sticks a little bit but you can peel it off. They use a nylon sheet to absorb a little epoxy and to leave the carbon fiber/epoxy with good finish. It also helps with even distribution of the pressure so the epoxy gets vacuumed out evenly.

Awesome video, I found a website called carbonmods that does what seems like all the stuff used here in a kit, thought it might help others out who are trying to get hold of the stuff needed, I can't wait to have a go when it arrives. don't think my work will be as good as tygaboys though!

i dont understand now so hes makign the mode for carbon fiber because in clip 4 the finished parts looks in grey color and carbon fiber doesnt look black right and second how did he melt that carbon fiber into mode shape he didnt show it on video

1. No gelcoat for carbon fiber, just resin. You won't see the carbon. 2. Get PVA from Fiberglass Services in Gardena, CA (carbon cloth, fiberglass, epoxy etc etc as well. They supply surfboard makers, they have everything, they're super cheap, and very very nice) 3. PVA should be sprayed on, not wiped on. Good luck.

Thanks for watching. Nope. Since it was just a "practice" workshop, we just put resin on the carbon fiber & on the mold. I was told we could've gelcoated 1st.

very very thin, the thickness of the fabric itself is like a 64th of an inch. Small pieces unravel really easily though so you may want to put some sort of backing on it before you cut it. I would use a nice pair of scissors. Depending on what you're inlaying in you can just cut route the inlay about twice as deep as you need, lay the fabric in with a little adhesive and drown it in bartop epoxy... sand and polish once its dry and voila! Good luck and let me know how it turns out man.

The idea of spraying PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) is to build up even uniform layers. Slopping it around is not a good idea unless you're really know what you're doing and let it full dry.

you don't have to be so worried about streaks in the wax if you have a heat gun ... kind of like a hair dryer, but a lot hotter. It'll melt the wax down enough to even it all out, and any excess will run off.
