Can someone help me? my father and I are installing a Cordova Tuscany Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet brushed nickel finish. ( 673-6455) We can't seem to attach the neck of the faucet to the to these metal rings Im not sure of. How do we do this? Also the directions are poorly drawn and wrote so we are lost.

@Izzy45856 Hah! That happened to me years ago as a young apprentice plumber. You just have to unscrew the flexible spray hose where it attaches to the underside of the faucet. It will not be easy.

so this is a sort of comical situation that turned out to be quite the pain in the butt... we were fixing a pipe under the sink because the valve had cracked and there was water everywhere... well we got the pipe fixed, now after words I discovered that the hose for the veggie spray got placed on the wrong side of the pipe so we can no longer pull it out and use it. How would i fix this? Is there a simple way I could do this?

i do have this one tool that works perfect woth those plastic nuts. Its a bar that had different knoches on each end of it. I think rigid make it, but its the best 20 bucks ive ever spent. its another version of the basin wrench

i can only figure out how he put the money in the menu, in 3:15 he was pretending to pass the money from his left hand to his right hand, but actually he didn't and the money is still in the left hand, and of course everyone thought the money is in his right hand. Great ?s! No offense at all as you are most polite. There is solid 2x blocking behind the tile at that location. The lug ell fitting screwed to it and then I placed another block over that that had a hole drilled slightly larger than the diameter of the fitting. Never hammer drill tile. Never ever....... Just use a new regular bit. Once it cuts into the glaze, the rest is easy. Porcelain tile though is tougher. You often need diamond bits.

On this paticular "Pot-Filler" job I was wondering if you had put wooden supports not only to hold the brass dropped eared 90' but what exactly did those screws anchor to on the hidden retention ring? Did you install another stud behind the drywall? How bout' drilling thru tile did your drill happen to have "hammer-action"? Again I'm not being sarcastic I really like your work but these are just ?'s that I don't see answered.

Thank you. The repair went smoothly and no more leak. The cap was difficult to remove due to mineral deposit build up where the metal handle and the brass stem made contact. Boiled about a cup of white vinegar, turned off the heat, droped the handle in the hot vinegar for about an hour. Wiped down the brass stem with the vinegar and presto both were cleaned of the deposit. Very helpful video.

If I don't shut off the water, will water shoot out upon removal of the stem? I'm asking because my water shutoff under the sink is frozen and the only alternative is to close the water valve outside, but this is a major pain because I live in a condo and there's one outside valve for each four units. If you are still trying to fixt this, you might not have a shutoff valve at the sink location. You will have to shutoff the main water valve in the basement and also the water valve at the hot water heater. Hope this helps.

what type of lubricant are you putting on the Q-tip when you apply it on the various parts? Personally, I just put the parts together without using anything. This is an excellent video however, there is no video on disassembling the white cam part which was a pain in the ass for me because it was stuck. I was determined to get it off. On mines it was the white piece that fit perfectly with two triangle imprint on the side of the pipe and the white cam pieces have two triangles on the side that fit flush. If the hot and cold are backwards, you don't have to remove the cartridge. Just turn the stem 180 degrees. Do not wipe the grease off. If the stem moves too easily, you forgot to install the small washer on the stem. This comment is from an experienced plumber.

Nice little video. I have tried to do this to my faucet as it has gotten way too hard to turn on and off. But it is stuck and your video just confirmed that I was trying to open it up the correct way. I will try again and this time I will pull harder. My trick will be to put he handle back on after removing the "keeper" and see if I can get that thing out. Thank you for posting this great video. 612 - go twins....

Thanks for your video. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the cartridge out...it was stuck in there and wouldn't budge even with extreme force using pliers. I got a moen puller but those brass ends just ended up breaking. I'll have to resort to using a plumber. :(

I installed all new parts in my kitchen Delta faucet but I just hand tightened the cap assembly. The handle was really loose and very easy to move. There wasn't any leaking on any parts but, the handle had to be set back a bit or the spout would run a very light stream of water. So tomorrow I will use the wench and see what happens. Great video. Thanks! Oh! And by the way, my husband doesn't do any faucet repairs. LOL

Thanks! One thing, when I went to get the parts, the guy said probably all I needed was the seats and springs, not the other parts, and it turned out he was right. Home Depot website has a Delta faucet repair kit, but the store didn't, and that was where I got this info. It solved my problem.

@thefirstofthefirst Great point! The turbine must rotate the motor/generator against friction, and back EMF (Electro-Motive Force) to attain enough voltage to begin charging the battery. Before it gets spinning up, the motor/generator is trying to spin backwards from the energy of the battery. A diode would rectify the problem...(so to speak!) and block the flow of current backwards. I'm not sure if there would be a benefit with a diode above the battery voltage threshold rpm, however.

I will certainly help! Have you checked out my Instructables page? It's in the links to the right in "more info". There you will find several types of CD Turbines. The "Turkey Time Tesla CD Turbine" is the Instructable that would be similar to what is seen in the above video. There are many experiments that can be done from one basic turbine. Note the CD container should be the Memorex kind that has the thick lip on the bottom spindle tray. That's the only kind I've got to seal properly.

That could work, as the Tesla turbine design makes best torque when it's running at over 1/2 of it's maximum rpm. (i.e. min 15,000 rpm for a 30,000 rpm turbine.) I understand the lack of actual "blades" in the tesla design, I just used the term for simplicity. My idea is considerably more complicated, but I was thinking of making a tesla turbine with a shaft, and have a centrifugal clutch system (like what you would see on a twist and go moped) so the turbine could spin up freely before putting load on it.

There are no blades in a Tesla Turbine. It uses discs, and is known as the "Bladeless Turbine". I haven't been able to afford to buy the special discs, shaft, bearings, seals and heavier case, all of which amounts to hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a quality Tesla turbine. The question is, what advantage is there in using a shaft, bearings, and seals...all of which are problematic in any turbine? If I can build a turbine without these items, then I think it is a major improvement.

if you put a nozel on the turbine to increse the water presher you coud get more power a garden hose with a (jet) nozel will spin a fan at a good speed so a 1/8 nozle opening shoud do the trick

I do show charging an AA battery at 5:40 in this movie, 1/4 amp x 2 volt = about 1/2 watt. There is not much power available from faucet water pressure at 25 psi. Most of the energy goes into the resistance of turning the shaft of the generator, with only a watt or two of power available to use. This turbine can run on higher water pressure or on compressed air, to get the big numbers of generated electrical power. The power increases sharply with the square of the rpms.

I was going to run one from my creek. It requires at least a 80 foot vertical drop to get about 40 psi pressure. It is doable, but for leak-proof longevity, a stronger case is required.

@imanolgonz A new cartridge comes with a little plastic removal tool. remove the little copper clip, fit the tool on top of the cartridge, grab the plastic tool with the channel locks and twist it back and forth to break the seal on the old cartridge. Yo should be able to remove the old cartridge now.

They also make a tool that you can slide up on the nuts on the supply lines and they also make a tool that has slots in it that is made to tighten the plastic nuts that hold the faucet down.Most of the time these are alot easier then using a basin wrench or anything else.Ridgid Tools makes the one that tightens the nuts on the faucet and they are metal and the other ones is made out of plastic.

You can use the flexible stainless steel supply lines that are braided versus the brass ones and the grey plastic ones.I always use the stainless steel kind because they are alot easier and quicker to install.Since the brass ones were already bent and were reusable you used them but usually go with the stainles steel flexible type.

Make sure you get plumbers tape. They'll know what your talking about. Wrap any thread you screw together. You can't repair the washers without it, you'll just create another leak.
