But, I will point out one of the MANY misconceptions that the sign 666 is not "satanic" - 616, is "sign of the devil." When translating the Bible into Latin, the number was misinterpreted. Rushdie didn't expose anything about Islam, he just posited about Muhammad's origin. I don't recall him really saying anything too negative about the faith, considering his views on religion.
