Yes i change patches on the fly. Using Music Labs standalone application for RealGuitar called "Toolbox" you can do this and more. These days i use Apple's "MainStage" and have done over 400 shows and happy to report -0- crashes! Not only does it patch change BUT if you sustain a note or chord and change patches it's actually flawless. And i do go back and forth between RG&RS sometimes in the same song

These sounds are software based. You need a PC or Macintosh then connect any MIDI keyboard to your computer. I use a Laptop on stage and have done hundreds of shows without any crashes at all. The software can be bought direct at musiclab com. You can even buy the "Jeffrey Abbott" version(thats me) if you ask them. Have a GREAT time in the States, jeff

Wow, try to explain this in short. It actually works JUST like a guitar the instrument(software) has different modes. Such as Chord&Strum, Chord and Pick & Solo. There are more but this is a start. In the "Pick Mode you chord with one hand and in the other you have six keys each assigned to a different string( this is the most basic explanation.) You can open pick or strum in any fashion just like a guitarist. In chord mode you have 'Strum Keys" that emulate up and down motions.

Great questions. I don't play guitar at all. It started because i wanted to be up front on stage (since i am a lead vocalist) without being surrounded by a lot of large keyboards and i wanted to connect better with my band mates& the audience then there were a lot of songs that had a second guitar part and no keyboard sounds. Then i started crafting "custom" guitar sounds from KORG synths and then RealGuitar&RealStrat came along and changed everything ( amen).

That is the standard Casio CZ guitar patch. Would be preset 71 on a CZ-230S and a similar on the CZ-1. There was a red patch book by Casio with the settings written out and the comment at the bottom - use with distortion pedal.I have a site with CZ sysex downloads that include these.

As a keyboarder I asked myself if its easier to learn hot to play real guitar than to learn the technique to simulate a guitar on a keyboard. As far as I know there's a steep learning curve until you're able to play something believable. Otherwise Realguitar and Realstrat are very interesting.
