I've had epilepsy for 11 years. Last weekend I had 2 grand mals seizures in one day. Apparently both lasted for about 2 minutes each. My brother told me I made this screaming noise at the beginning and then that sucking for air noise at the end. I know it might seem sick that I want to know what having a seizure looks like- but- thank you for having the courage to post this video. It has really shed some light on what goes on with me. I hope you are on medication and doing better. xx

I think the reason 700 kids had seizures isn't really that every one of them were effected by the color flashes, but because a couple were and the others just thought about it enough to give THEMSELVES seizures. It's Psychosomatic. One or two kids are effected by the flashes, So the other kids and their parents worry which worries the kids more, so, they make their body react. half the seizure reports in this case were AFTER the show was aired

Dont know if you can help me but have you ever known or heard of a person to concentrate hard on a game or something, and they concentrate so hard they start spinning with their hands to their head looking confused and in pain as if they dont know where they now are, and the room starts getting smaller? Then they just look dopey and not with it but still conscious for about 2 hours where they finally get their mind back, but dont remember anything at all during the 2 hours of being conscious?

I was diagnosed with epilepsy this past May. I had never had a seizure in my life then suddenly I had one in the grocery store. Since then I have had about 10 this year. I never imagined what I looked like. My husband is always there to help me. Bless you.

I wept after I watched this. I've been having tonic-clonic seizures since I was 13. I had never actually seen someone have a seizure. All I've ever experienced are the after effects of my own seizures.. This was very painful to watch, but it was very brave of you to post it.

i always miss the onset with video im afraid .. buts its usually something like her losing muscle tone and falling or stiffening and falling / staggering or just a bunch of myoclonic jerks .recovery can be slow takes a couple of hours rest and other times like after this one she just sat up felt better then carried on with her day .. I hope it does help others .. i found other peoples videos really helpful so am trying to pass on the help to others Sandy x

It's amazing how different all the types of seizures are. My dd, Libby has complex partial seizures and she actually stops breathing and completely passes out but then within a min. she wakes up and act's just like your daughter. Confusion, dazed, cries sometimes, wet's, headache, tired so much that she has to curl up and go to sleep for up to 3 hrs. Thanks for shareing your video. It helps when parents can help each other with this. Libby is 10 now and doing fine.

She looks JUST LIKE ME during my seizures. She looks exactly like I feel. The slow, wiped, tired, twitching, staring, lala land, feeling. This is actually the first time I've seen someone have my type of seizure. Here I would feel like being hit with a ton of bricks over and over in slow motion, whilst other people would be freaking out cause I looked so weird.

The best thing to do is to place a coat of something soft under the head to prevent this. It's rare but I've heard of people being bitten by people and animals having seizures where the person giving assistance has tried to immobilise the head. You should always make the person safe and then just wait out the seizure. Once they have finished, that's the point where you can start assisting the person physically.

I have experience with this. My cat Sox, who is four, has been having seizures for the past two weeks, though yesterday is the first time it has ever been full blown....and I am all alone in the house with him (I'm 15...and have no idea how to handle at situation where an animal seizures like that)...and it was a very violent fit. Holding down is a bad thing to do though. You shouldn't force anything on them during such thing. My dog tries to get up after she has an issue and runs into the walls, so I just wrap my arms loosely around her so she can "run in place". Sure would hate to own a cat which has Epilepsy though.

My cat, Pooka, started having seizures at age 12 weeks. After her emergency dr. visit I brought her to Angell Memorial Hospital. We ran all the test and she came out clean but the seizures remained. She would grow and then we would up the phenobarbitol. Later she became toxic (liver function tests, should be run). We lowered her dose + added potasium bromide. It worked! Unfortunately she later became ill and we discovered she had asthema. Pooka had a wonderful 4 yrs and I still miss her
