Whenever one hear Lanza's voice you ponder what might have been had he the patience and commitment to study. Clearly, Lanza had the most developed tenor voice in his twenties of any tenor in the classical world with the exception of Bjoerling who was singing Radames at 24! However, to the trained ear he relied too heavily on his natural gifts and his technique was often sloppy. He seldom covered his passagio from the middle to the upper register leaving his notes wide albeit booming.
