I agree with Ziggy. At least Sammy still has a career. A kick ass career AND Cabo Wabo! Not to take anything away from Dave's earlier success..I think Dave and Van Halen were awesome. I was reading critics' opinions on the Booker Prize and what it currently represents, and the feeling was that we have LOTS of good writers at the moment but no one really to match the Americans when it comes to national(ist) portrayals. thanks, the post enabled me to reflect on some things that we as psych workers tend to do: impose our techniques on involuntary participants. This rhythm stuff is definately psych work that may not work well in an audience in which a participant is externalizing alot of unreflected aggression.

the original sky guitars are quite a bit older than 10 years ago - uli was using them on his "firewind" album of 1981 - one of my friends near L.A. was commissioned to emergency repair one of them before a concert and i actually got to touch it. it had 32 frets. when you get up that high on the neck it is impossible to manipulate so the frets were located at every other fret location - see what i am saying? very difficult to master!

Doesn't sound like Em at all... Hes too "nice". He would probably APOLOGISE to the rapper he was beefing with if they called him a faggot. The guy isn't that good, he had a few good lines, but he sounds nothing like eminem. I don't like his style, and i don't like him. Real rapping isn't just about making your words sound pretty and having a flow, they have to be moving and tell a story. This guys story is the whole "lets get along" bullshit. Em grew up tough, and his raps were tough.

That is not how all white people sound when they spit, that's ridiculous. Sage Francis and Brother Ali are two more good examples of skilled white rappers with great lyrics that sound NOTHING like Eminem in tone. Eyedea however, leans more towards that high pitched whiny tone like Em and Ash. Obviously it was somewhat put on even by Em b/c like I said he dropped it later on in his career. He didn't just go thru puberty now. He sounds like he's sucking helium on the first Slim Shady CD.

not true man. I'm white and I spit and I don't sound like that and I listen to MANY white rappers who don't sound like that, like Slug from Atmosphere and Cage to name a few. It's his high-pitched, almost whiny tone, some of his meter and the way he records his vocals. And some of the silly things he says and the way he pronounces certain words is very much like shady. He's good but it's like he's purposely trying to sound like Em. There's plenty of skilled white rappers who don't sound like Em.
