Wine – Understanding The Different Types
There are any different types of wine available in the market. These types of wine range from the red wines to the white to the blush or rose wines. There are common wines that are more popular than other s and are usually ordered by many restaurant patrons. This is probably because these wines go with a lot of different kinds of food.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay
These types of wine are made from grapes which can be grown anywhere in the world. This makes it a very common wine but also a very adaptable one. The flavor of the Cabernet Sauvignon is very easy to recognize and even more easy to appreciate. Other types of wine that are familiar to many people are the Chardonnay line of wines. These wines are made from grapes that are grown in France and some parts of California.
Merlot and Pinot Noir
The Merlot and Pinot Noir types of wines are basically red wines that have captured the taste of many people. These two types of wine are originally from France but the grapes for these types of wine are now grown abundantly in the United States of America. Both types of wine are great for red meats and some people even drink these with chicken and chocolate.
Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc
These two types of wine are both basically made into white wine. Riesling is the type of wine that has deep and intense flavor. Some people like the dry Riesling better than other types of wine from these grapes. Sauvignon Blanc is a variety of grapes that produce high quality Sancerre wine. Both types of wine go well with fish and poultry.
Syrah or Shiraz
This type of wine is produced from robust grapes that were initially grown in the Rhone Valley. Due to its popularity many vineyards are now growing these grapes for the production of the Shiraz or Syrah wine.
Zinfandel
The grapes for these types of wine are originally from Croatia but are now grown mostly in California. Italy also has their own variety of the Zinfandel grapes which is highly similar to the California variety and Australia also grows the same variety which is abundant in California.
The kinds of wine to be paired with certain foods are all actually dependent on the tastes of the people who are imbibing in the beverage. Not all people have the same taste when it comes to the tannins, acidity and flavors of all wines.
