Old Tea Pots Have Many Uses In The Home And Garden

There’s no need to just chuck those old tea pots, especially if they only have minor damage. Tea pots that are completely shattered are better off being swept up into the bin. It always seemed a shame to me whenever one of my tea pots develops a crack or the spout breaks off. Considering all the joy and comfort they’ve brewed for me, seems the least I could do is find a retirement home of some sort for them.

Old Tea Pots - In The Garden

You can use old tea pots as beautiful alternatives to flower pots in your garden or in your house. Depending on the kind of plant, you might have to drill a few holes in the bottom in order for any excess water to drain. You could even use them as vases for artificial flowers, or for garden decoration. You might want to half-bury one and stick a fairy or butterfly figuring on top to add color to a garden in winter, or just to be a little different.

Old Tea Pots - As A Coin Bank

This is an especially good retirement job for animal shaped teapots. They act as a pretty little receptacle for all the loose pocket change that rolls around. You might even want to keep found rubber bands or paper clips, or any loose odds and ends that you really have no idea where to put. Try to place any old tea pots used for coin banks low enough so you don’t have to lift them up or handle them. Picking them up when full might completely shatter them. Try to use old tea pots with a mouth wide enough to stick your hand in.

Old Tea Pots - As A Spell Component

Those who follow pagan faiths such as Wicca are always on the lookout for spell components to help make effective spells. You can even practice magic without having to be of a particular faith. You might use an old tea pot to “brew” a wish into fruition, such as when you start a new business. Old tea pots are full of associations of good times and good nourishing tea, so those associations will make the old tea pot a magnet for positive vibes.

Old Tea Pots - As A Collectable

And some like to have old tea pots around for good luck, maybe even having a shelf full of retired tea pots. They need to be repaired if you choose to go this route, but you can always hide chips or fine cracks by turning the “bad side” to the wall. Old tea pots can blend in any interior décor.
